Award-winning and internationally known/collected artists Michael and Debbie Crowley's newest idea to pass on their 25 years of glass skills to other glass enthusiasts!   After the success of our annual festival called Glass Stock (going into it's fifth year!) we decided this might be another awesome way to enlighten others into the many aspects of glass art. "Camp Crowley" Glass Retreat is the perfect way to try many different techniques creating in glass without buying all the equipment until you know you love it! Keeping the camp a small affair of 4 people per week creates a more intense and personal 6 full days of classes.  The pictures above show the varied projects you will complete during the week, all supplies are included and you leave with beautifully/professionally finished marketable art pieces easily worth half this very low priced tuition! NO experience necessary! Day 1 is 1/2 day Beg Glass beads (picture is sample, we will be making some of the simpler beads in this set), 1/2 day flameworking components for fused tile day like flowers, leaves, birds etc.  Day 2 is making furnace glass paperweights, each person makes 3 with dichroic glass and frits. Day 3 Fusing, 1/2 day dichroic jewelry, you make a bracelet with Sterling links and a few cabochons to wire wrap later.  Then 1/2 day making fused plates with your torched components and flat glass, you make an 8" and a matching 4" set of tiles that get slumped into plates during week.  Day 4 is Blowing furnace glass, you make a glass float, a tumbler and if time allows, small fluted bowl.  Day 5 is 1/2 day wire wrapping the cabochons, 1/2 day sandblasting a 2 stage depth blasting of the butterfly on a glass tile, pattern from L.S.Watson.  Day 6 is coldworking the pieces to professionally finish them and starts with a short discussion on how/why to coldwork and touching on pricing your work..  The rest of morning and afternoon is grinding and polishing paperweights, signing pieces, access to sandblaster to etch or carve blown or fused pieces if desired. ALL days are 6 hours work and a one hour lunch break with lunches provided (veggie on request).
